Business Excellence Awards

Brief

As a reward for the hard work put in by the Retail Sales Teams at Head Office, an Award Ceremony and celebration was to be held for the staff. A grand venue located within a few hours travel of the Stafford office was required for the evening’s entertainment including accommodation and transport for all guests. Jarvis Woodhouse Events were also asked to secure a suitable sponsor to part fund the event.

Our response

The stunning Principal Hotel in Manchester with its grand Ballroom was hired exclusively for the weekend. As this was to be an Awards Ceremony, the Ballroom was magnificently transformed to reflect the glitz and glamour of a Hollywood Oscars night. Red carpet, walkway of stars, golden drapes, and huge Oscar statuettes formed part of the theme.

All printed material, teasers, invitations and tickets were designed, printed and distributed by Jarvis Woodhouse Events.

The evening began with a Champagne reception, where guests were entertained by a pianist, close up magicians and Sean Connery and Marilyn Monroe look-alikes. The guests were then escorted to the Ballroom where the glamour continued. A delicious three course dinner was served, during which time the entertainment was The 3 Waiters; a trio of “waiters” whose act involved hoaxing as real waiters before eventually grouping to form three talented highly entertaining opera singers.

Motorola kindly sponsored the event, and on each table there was the latest camera phone, on which guests could ‘snap at will’ and send pictures to other guests and also to the large display screens.

Winners were escorted to the stage by Marilyn Monroe and Sean Connery, and presented with a range of magnificent crystal awards and snapped by the paparazzi whilst on stage.

Following the awards, the entertainment really kicked in, with music supplied by the fabulous band, Grand Groove Central. Guests were free to enjoy the Ice Sculpture, which doubled as a Vodka Luge, a range of exotic drinks from the Cocktail Bar, and for those with a sweet tooth, a Chocolate Fountain. As a grand finale to the evening, a Frank Sinatra impersonator wowed the crowds with a set of swinging hits.

When the guests returned to their room, they were greeted by a bottle of client branded Champagne, a branded star paperweight gift, and a branded “Hangover Bag” to help recover  the following morning!
